The Letterbox Consultancy is a privately owned company, formed at the end of 1995 by Graham Dodd. Having previously worked at several of the UK’s largest distribution companies for a wide range of blue chip clients, Graham spotted a niche in the marketplace.

Until then, clients had only been serviced by “media owners” that, bound by their companies’ in-house portfolio of services, were restricted in the options which they could present to clients to help achieve marketing objectives. Operating as a totally independent and impartial planning and buying service dedicated solely to door drops, The Letterbox Consultancy provided a new service for clients to access, presenting all the different door drop options available, making recommendations of how to proceed and then completing the buying process.

Whilst this service has subsequently been replicated by other suppliers, The Letterbox Consultancy still applies a unique approach to a complex medium which even extends to using their competitors’ services – where their clients will benefit from such open-mindedness.

The company philosophy is to respond to any client brief, by identifying each of the door-drop options available, the charges attributable to each option, their relative strengths and weaknesses, along with a recommendation of how best to proceed.

This will include all of the new targeting and distribution developments the industry is able to offer, and a full complement of distribution options, including Royal Mail leaflet distribution.

Our lateral thinking often provides clients with opportunities they previously did not know existed through existing or previous suppliers.

On receipt of a formal brief, The Letterbox Consultancy will provide a first stage, speculative proposal for all enquiries.

The company has grown year on year since its formation, with much of its growth attributable to repeat and increased client activity, client referrals and client loyalty, when contacts move from one company or organisation to another.

In 2010, Neal Dodd joined the company following seven years working in a sales promotion agency. In extending the range of agencies, charities, local authorities and f.m.c.g. companies that The Letterbox Consultancy work on behalf of, Neal has continued the theme of an independent and impartial door drop planning and buying service for his clients.

This has resulted in further, significant growth for The Letterbox Consultancy, whilst proudly maintaining the high levels of account management for which the company is well known amongst clients.
