Changes and developments in the door drop industry

For those clients considering Royal Mail door to door activity in 2011, there is an immediate call to action.

Royal Mail charges increase with effect from April 4th, but, there is a window of opportunity to avoid the increases – if you book on or before Friday February 18th.

The standard service – the window for standard bookings – will change from January 31st to 5 or more weeks in advance and rate card will increase in price by c. 2%.

The Late Sales service – the window for “late” bookings – will change from January 31st to 3 or 4 weeks notice – and rate card will increase by nearly 9%.

Royal Mail have also announced that some postcode sector changes will be updated to reflect changes in demographics and audience value, which translates into some postal sectors switching around within the five price bands.

Postal sectors in Band A will however attract a discount of 13.5% – if they are of interest to you?

Door drop testing service

We have recently become aware of a very interesting door drop service provided by fast.Map.

According to fast.MAP research, “direct mail” including door drops, has regained its position as the consumer’s favourite direct marketing channel because people love to receive well targeted and well crafted messaging. This trend is predicted to continue to develop during the coming year.
fast.MAP helps marketers dramatically improve the performance of their marketing campaigns through effective customer insight.

fast.MAP is a strategic insight partner to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and has developed and tested a series of Door Drop assessment products and solutions to maximise the effectiveness of Door Drop campaigns such as:

–         360° Campaign Support Toolkit
–         creativeTesting.MAP
–         leafletTesting.MAP
