Royal Mail D2D

by on 15/06/2010

From last week, Royal Mail lifted the 3 items per week, per sector threshold which has for some years, acted as a barrier to booking capacity in some “popular” areas. The immediate change is to carry 4 items each week – but, there are longer term plans to increase this still further to 5 or even possibly 6 items per week.

Royal Mail claim that any increase beyond four items will only be taken if there is proof that the increase to four does not affect clients’ response rates or decrease the quality of the service provided, but only time will tell of course.

On a more positive note, Royal Mail have also announced that the door drop service will be available 52 weeks of the year. Historically the weeks that immediately surround Christmas have been the source of client requests that RM have been unable to fulfill – but no longer!

Late sales bookings from today are available in w/c July 5th, 12th & 19st – at reduced rates.

The standard booking system now allows access from July 26th onwards.
Don’t forget that by involving us now in your Autumn/Winter door drop plans, not only can we project manage your Royal Mail booking so that you only ever deal with us, but we can also build in a SMART-Drop test.

The results may well shape your 2011 plans!
